There are places that mark you forever. You just set foot there and it’s the instant blow of heart. That’s what happened to me with the beautiful city of Florence, Italy. Unfortunately, it is often put aside, because it is true, Italy can boast of having real jewels: Rome, Venice, Cinque Terre, Amalfi Coast … And yet, Florence does not have to blush of its sisters. On the contrary.
A rich heritage
First of all, Florence has a real historical and artistic heritage. Do not forget that this is the city of Da Vinci and she has seen many other characters: Machiavelli, the Medici, Michelangelo, Boticelli … This rich story is felt at every step, every lane detour. Obviously, we can not pass by what overlooks it and adds to its charm: the cathedral whose dome was made by Filippo Brunelleschi. For the record, it added the final dome in 1436 when the construction of the cathedral had started in 1296 is … 140 years later! It was not until this time that a genius of architecture found a way to affix a dome as strong and solid to perfect the whole.
What do to/see
Florence is also its Vecchio Bridge where passers-by presents itself on its edges to admire the romantic side of the city. Florence is also the Palazzo Vecchio and its museums (Uffizi Gallery, Galileo, Galleria dell’Accademia …). We can stroll there for days and days without tiring. This is also what I intend to do as I have the opportunity. Florence has been a real favorite but without the opportunity to enjoy as much as I would have liked. Indeed, my stay in this city has been more than express (just a few hours), which is clearly insufficient to discover all the wonders it abounds. I would especially like to visit the cathedral of the interior – this is only part of the discount.
