December 2013, Venice, Italy.
I know what some of you might say: is there any city more “cliché” than Venice ? Well, actually, you have to experience the beauty of Venice and its special atmosphere at least once in your life.
Venice is quite small; a long week-end is enough to see what there is to see. But you can’t help feeling the magical place and romantic atmosphere around you. Here are my 5 tips to get to know Venice better.
As young lovers, Venice was our first destinations as a couple.
Flying from Marseille, prices are quite affordable (especially during winter period). We paid around 60 EUR per ticket.
Taking the boat to arrive on the main island, you can only admire Venice’s monuments and architecture.
Here are the 5 main things I recommend you to do/see while in Venice:
1. Admire the colorful streets of the Burano island :
2. Visit the glass factory in Murano island
3. Walk around the Piazza San Marco
4. Walk up the steps of the Loggia and admire the view of the Piazza and the entire surroundings from up
5. Admire a sunset in Giardini
And there are so much more things to explore… Just wander around the islands, enjoy great Italian food, get around in a gondola (for the most touristics of you: price can go up to 90 EUR for only 30 min!). I think that Venice is one of these cities where you just want to walk through its small streets, getting lost on the canals and just enjoy the special atmosphere.
